Spring is coming. The sun is shining warm, the birds are singing and we are spending significantly more time outside these days then our jackets. The general mood of everybody seems to be improving and for this short time of the year everything feels like a fresh start.
But there is "somebody"1 who doesn't seem to be particularly joyful these days. This "somebody", lets call "him" Johannes, spends "his" existence mostly in one of two modes: (A) working, (B) sitting around, doing nothing. I would not have had any complaints about this but these days Johannes is displaying some rather weird, even rude behavior: First, "he" made it a habit to startle the kids by sudden movements and exclamations, especially K. is already quite afraid of "him". Second, Johannes began to interrupt conversations in unpleasant ways. For example, the other day A. was telling me about her plans to spend a Saturday afternoon in a nearby spa, in order to ... "Charging!" exclaimed Johannes.
"He" also began slacking in his work, returning back to the place where "he" usually sits, only after about 10 minutes, leaving most of the work unfinished. "He" would remain still for the rest of the day, only to wake up at 3 o'clock at night, trying to finish the job and waking everybody up in the process. And one of the most unpleasant things: A. tells me that Johannes is probably incontinent, leaking small amounts of liquid, even in the place where "he" sits.
I don't know, what to think about this. Being permanently low on battery, showing erratic behavior, being randomly rude or mean to the kids, not being able to finish even a simple task. If Johannes was a person, I would think, "he" should seek help.
I really need to find time to fix our cleaning robot soon.
